January 14

Track- Heidelberg sophomore Judy Bataille (Felicity, Ohio / Felicity-Franklin) helped guide the Berg to a fourth place finish at the Capital Purple and White Invitational last weekend. She claimed the 200-meter dash title with a school record time of 26.40, as well as provisionally qualified for nationals in the 55-meter dash with a first place time of 7.26.

Field- Otterbein junior Allyson Tobin (Lancaster/Fisher Catholic) placed first in the shot put with a NCAA provisional mark of 43-1 ¾ at the Capital Purple and White Invitational last week.

January 21

Track)- Muskingum freshman Hallie Nesselroad (Chandlersville/Philo) placed first in the 500-meter run (1:21.31), the 4x200-meter relay (1:51.70) and the 4x400-meter relay (4:23.97) to lead the team at the Marietta Invitational last week.

 

Other Nominees: Shelly Gaines (CAP)

Field- Ohio Northern freshman Aubrie Stechschulte (Columbus Grove) set a school record and placed fourth in the pole vault with a mark of 10’7 ½” at the ONU Friday night Meet last week.

January 28

Track Otterbein junior Lauren Rausch (Edison/Mt. Gilead) placed first in the 55 meter hurdles at the Baldwin-Wallace Mid-January Meet last week.

 

Other Nominees: Hallie Nesselroad (MUSK)…Shelly Gaines (CAP)….Rebekah Paul (B-W)…Judy Bataille (HEID)

 

Field- Capital junior Lizzy Stanton (Cincinnati/Withrow) help to lead the Crusaders to a third place finish at the Rev.Mike Hout Invitational with 29 points last week. Stanton placed first in the triple jump (33-11.5), second in the 4x200 meter relay (1:49.13), third in the long jump (16-7.25) and fourth in the 300 meter run (44:13).

February 2

Track (women)- Heidelberg sophomore Judy Bataille (Felicity/Felicity-Franklin) ran a new school record and a provisional qualifying mark of 7.17 to place first overall in the 55-meter dash at the OAC Relays last week. Bataille also placed first in the 4x200 medley relay (1:46. 87) and second in the 1600 sprint medley (4:25.72).

 

Other Nominees: Ashley Scullion (B-W)…Abby Ludwig (OTT)

Field (women)- Ohio Northern freshman Aubrie Stechschulte (Columbus Grove) bettered her school record by winning the individual pole vault title with a mark of 10’ 8”. She also finished fourth in the long jump (16’ 1 ½”) and sixth in the 55-meter dash (7.67).

February 11

Track-Capital sophomore Jessica Starks (Akron/Akron East) took home one individual title in the 55 meter dash (7.58) and was a member of the winning 4x200 meter (1:47) and 4x400 meter (4:10.36) relay teams at the Greater Columbus Championship. The team placed second out of six teams.

Field- Capital junior Lizzy Stanton (Cincinnati/Withrow) helped the lead the Crusaders to a second place finish at the Greater Columbus Championship last week with a first place finish in the long jump (17-01.25) and the triple jump (33-07.50).

February 18

Track (women)- Heidelberg sophomore Judy Bataille (Felicity, Ohio / Felicity-Franklin) provisionally qualified in the 55-meter dash in the prelims of the All-Ohio Meet last week, only to return in the finals to win the event with an automatic qualifying time 7.12. Her school record time of 7.12 currently leads the nation. This is the third time this season that she has set a new school record

Field (women)- Ohio Northern sophomore Courtney Zupancic (North Ridgeville) had a tremendous day at the All-Ohio Meet with a first place weight throw (49’8 ½ ) and placed second in the shot put with an ONU record of 41’8 ½ .

February 25

Track (women)- Heidelberg sophomore Judy Bataille (Felicity, Ohio / Felicity-Franklin)took home three top-10 finishes  at the Div. I Kent State Tune-Up last week.  Bataille placed sixth in the 60-meter dash (7.79), fifth in the 200-meter dash (25.73) and was a member of the eight place 4x400 relay team (4:02.65).

Field (women)- Marietta junior Tiffany Kovacevich (Strongsville) help to lead the team to a first place finish at the Marietta open last week with first place finishes in the weight throw with a school record  mark of 13.49 m and the shot put with a season best mark of 11.19m.

March 3

Otterbein senior Ashley Suffel (Defiance) ran a 2:57.47 to win  the 1, 000-meter run at the OAC Qualifier last week.

Other Nominees: Joy Kessler (ONU)…Kristen Balogh (B-W)…Deanne Dobos (MUSK)            
 

Marietta Tara Leach (West LaFayetta) placed first in the long jump with a school record mark of 5.19m at the Marietta Open last week.

2007

January 15

Runner: Heidelberg freshman Jamie Depinet (New Riegel) accumulated three first place finishes and beat a school record at the Capital Purple and White Invitational last week. Depinet won the 300-meter dash (42.88), the 400-meter dash (1:00.39) and beat a school record as a member of the 4x200-meter relay placing first with a time of 1:48.95.

 

Field:  Heidelberg senior Nikki Jones (Fremont/Hopewell Loudon) collected two first place finishes at the Capital Purple and White Invitational last week. Jones took first in the high jump with a mark of 5’00.25” and beat a school record as a member of the 4x200-meter relay team, placing first with a time of 1:48.95.


January 22

Runner: Baldwin-Wallace sophomore Ashley Scullion (Kentwood,MI/East Kentwood) accumulated two first place finishes and set two school records at the B-W Mid-January Meet last week. Scullion won the one-mile run (5:08.68) and the 1000-run (3:02.66)

Field:  Heidelberg senior Nikki Jones (Fremont/Hopewell Loudon) collected two first place and one third place finish at the Cardinal Invitational last week. Jones took first in the high jump with a mark of 5’2” and the 4x200 meter-relay (1:49.25). Jones finished third in the 300-meter run (44.72)


January 29

Runner: Baldwin-Wallace sophomore Ashley Scullion (Kentwood,MI/East Kentwood) placed first in both  the 3000 meter with a OAC record time of 10:29.70 and the distance medley in OAC record time and NCAA qualifying time of 12:11.1.

Runner:   Baldwin-Wallace senior Megan Via (Brookville) placed second behind teammate Ashley Scullion in the 3000 meters (10:49.00) and also placed first in the distance medley in a OAC record time and NCAA qualifying time of 12:11.1

Field:  Otterbein senior Amanda Fugate (Cloverleaf) collected two first place and one third place finish at the OAC Relays last week. Fugate took first in the 1600 sprint medley (4:23.31) and the long jump (5.27m) and placed third in the 4x200 meter relay (1:50.60). At Capital, Fugate placed second in both the long jump (5.01m) and 300 meter dash (42.30) and placed fourth in the 4x200 meter relay (1:52.33)

February 5

Runner: Wilmington freshman Callen Martin (Cincinnati/Finneytown) produced two first place finishes en route to leading the Quaker’s to a first place finish at the Crusader Invitational last week. Martin completed the 55-meter dash in a time of 7.30 and the 300 meter-dash in 42.29.

Field:  Otterbein senior Amanda Fugate (Cloverleaf) placed first in the long jump with a mark of 5.33 to help lead the Cardinals’ to a first place finish at the Marietta Open. Fugate also collected a first place finish in the 400-meter relay (1:03.81) and the 4x200-meter relay (1:52.7).

February 12

Runner: Heidelberg freshman Jamie Depinet (New Riegel) won two championships and set two school records at the All-Ohio Meet last week. Depinet won the 400-meter dash in a record time of 59.38 and was a member of the record setting 4x400-meter relay team (4:06.25). She was also a member of the 4x200-meter relay team that placed third (1:47.95).

 

Field:  Ohio Northern senior Sara McGinnis (Springfield/Shawnee) placed first in the high jump with a mark of 1.58m at the ONU Friday Night Series #3. McGinnis also claimed first place in the high jump (1.64m) at the All-Ohio Championship, along with a third place finish in the long jump (5.16m) and the 55-meter dash (8.57) to help lead the Polar Bears’ to a third place finish.

February 19

Runner: Baldwin-Wallace sophomore Ashley Scullion (Grand Rapids, MI/East Kentwood) placed first in the 800-meter run (2:19.16) and qualified for the NCAA Division III meet in the one-mile run with a school record time of 5:03.24 at the Great Cleveland Meet last week.

 

Field:  John Carroll junior Katie Winnings (Beachwood/Beaumont) placed first in the long jump (8.86 meters), the triple jump (10.89 meters) and placed second in the 55-meter hurdles to earn 28 team points at the Greater Cleveland Invitational.

February 26

Runner: Wilmington freshman Callen Martin (Cincinnati/Finneytown) accumulated two first place finishes with her mark in the 55-meter dash (7.19) and the 300-meter dash (42.57) at the Capital Invitational last weekend.

 

Field:  Ohio Northern senior Sara McGinnis (Springfield//Shawnee) placed first in the high jump with a NCAA provisional mark of 5-4 ½ at the ONU Friday Night Series #5 last weekend. McGinnis also placed second in the long jump (5.08m) and third in the triple jump (9.98m).
