Women's Indoor Track & Field:  Runner & Field Athletes-of-the-Week

 

2010

February 22

Field- Baldwin-Wallace junior Emily Oliver (Waynesburg/Sandy Valley) placed first in the pentathlon (3, 247 points), set a school record and provisionally qualified for the NCAA Div. III National Championships at Ohio Wesleyan last week.

 

 

Track- Baldwin-Wallace junior Kim Chinn (Zanesville/West Muskingum) helped to lead the Yellow Jackets to a second place finish at the Greater Cleveland College meet with two first place finishes in the 1,000-meter run (3:05.03) and the 5,000-meter run (18:41.00).    

February 15

Track- Wilmington senior Callen Martin (Cincinnati/Finneytown) broke the All-Ohio 55-meter dash record with a time of 7.01, the best time in the nation this season.

Field- Mount Union senior Aubrey Loy (Canton/Massillon) placed first and set a meet record in the long jump at the All-Ohio Championships with a mark of 18-00.50. Loy also placed second in the triple jump (35-07.25)

February 8

 

Track- Capital sophomore Sarah Trick (Tipp City/Tippecanoe) won the 800-meter run at the Greater Columbus Championships with the top time in the OAC this season at 2:19.51, and broke the previous school record of 2:22.02. Trick was also a member of the third place 4x400 relay team (63.75 split).

Ashley Bault

Field- Marietta sophomore Ashley Bault (Atwater/Waterloo) place third in the long jump with a school record mark of 5.33m and finished second in the triple jump with a mark of 10.90m at the Marietta Alumni Open.

February 1

 

Wilmington senior Callen Martin (Cincinnati/Finneytown) ran the nation's fastest 55-meter dash at the OAC relays (7.05). The mark tied Martin's school team record.

Ohio Northern sophomore Nicole Hope (Wilmington) won the high jump (4-11) and the pole vault (11-7.75) at the OAC Relays. Her vault tied her school record and was also an NCAA provisional qualifying height.

Track- Otterbein junior Sarah Petraitis (Pickerington/North) lead the Cardinals at the Otterbein College Invite with a first place finish in the 55-meter hurdles  (8.55), a second place finish in the 200-meter (27.49) and was a member of the winning 4x400-meter relay team. The team finished first out of six teams.

Field- Mount Union senior Aubrey Loy (Canton/Massillion) qualified for the NCAA Championships in the long jump and placed first with the best mark in the nation, 18-5, at the B-W Mid-January Meet.

January 18

 

Track- Heidelberg senior Jamie Depinet (New Riegel) took home three first place finishes at the Rev. Mike Hout Invitational host by Capital to lead the Berg to a fourth place finish.  Depinet won the 400 meter-dash (1:01.23) and was a member of the winning 4x200 relay team (1:51.83) and the 4x400 relay team (4:14.72).

Field- Marietta sophomore Kim Kessler (Chagrin Falls) broke her own school record in the pole vault with a mark of 3.36m at the Marietta Open.  Kessler also placed third in the long jump (4.76m).  The Pioneers placed second out of eight teams.

2009

January 12

Track- Heidelberg junior Judy Batallie (Felicity/Felicity Franklin) placed second and provisionally qualified for nationals in the 60-meter dash (7.71) at the Capital Rev. Mike Hout Invite. Batallie also placed second in the 200-meter dash (26.57) and was a member of the third place 4x200 relay team (1:49.24).

Field- Capital senior Lizzy Stanton (Cincinnati/Withrow) posted an OAC ‘A’ cut in the triple jump  with a 34’06.75’ mark to place first and also in the long jump with a 17’06.75’ mark to place third at the Capital Rev. Mike Hout Invite.

January 19

Track- Capital freshman Kwesi Seabrook (Chaminade) posted a first place finish in the 400-meter dash with an OAC ‘A’ qualifying time of 1:10.67 and  also paced the 4x200 (1:48.16) and 4x400 (4:14.37) relay teams to a first place finish at the Capital Crusader Invitational last week.

Field- Capital senior Lizzy Stanton (Cincinnati/Withrow) won the long jump with an NCAA provisional and OAC ‘A’ qualifying distance of 17-10.25 feet at the Capital Crusader Invitational last week. Stanton also won the triple jump with an OAC ‘A’ qualifying mark of 33-10.25 feet.

January 26

Track- Otterbein senior Lauren Rausch (Edison/Mt. Gilead) posted a first place finish in the 55-meter hurdles with an NCAA qualifying time of 8.53 at the Ohio Wesleyan Quad last week. Rausch also took home first place finishes in the 55-meter dash (7.70) and the 200-meter dash (28.79)

Track- Mount Union junior Heather Stalter (Marietta) posted a first place finish in the 3000-meter run with a time of 10:57.44 at the OAC Relays hosted by Otterbein last week.

Ohio Northern sophomore Aubrie Stechschulte (Columbus Grove) helped lead the Polar Bear’s to the team title at the OAC Relays with her victory in the pole vault with an NCAA provisional mark of 3.51m. She also placed third in the long jump (5.15m).

February 9

Track- Wilmington junior Callen Martin (Cincinnati/Finneytown) posted a win the 55-meter dash (7.24) in a field filled with Div. I and II athletes at the DePauw  Invitational last week. Martin also placed fourth in the 200-meter dash (26.92)

Field- Mount Union junior Aubrey Loy (North Canton/Massillon Jackson) led the Purple Raiders at the Baldwin-Wallace meet last week with a first place finish in the long jump (17-9.5) and a second place finish in the triple jump (34-9.5).

February 16

 

Track- Marietta senior Sheena Spencer (Marietta/Parkersburg) won the 400-meter dash at the All-Ohio Championships with a school record time of 59.39. She also helped the Pioneers take second (4:05.73) in the 4x400 relay.

Field- Capital senior Lizzy Stanton (Cincinnati/Withrow) was a double winner to help lead the Crusaders to third place, their best finish in school history at the All-Ohio Championships. Stanton won the long jump (17-08.75’) and the triple jump (35-02.00’).

February 23

 

Track- Marietta junior Randi Robertson (Avon Lake) placed first and set a new school record in the 5,000-meter run with a with an NCAA ‘A’ mark of 18:38.97 at the Rick Meindl Invitational last week.

Field- Ohio Northern junior Courtney Zupancic (North Ridgeville) placed second in both the weight throw with an NCAA provisional mark of 51-0.25 and in the shot put with a mark of 37-5.75 at the Findlay meet last week.

Track- Wilmington junior Callen Martin (Cincinnati/Finneytown) ran an NCAA provisional mark of 7.67 in the 60-meter dash for a first place finish at the Joe Banks Invitational. Martin also placed first in the 200-meter dash (26.18). Both marks broke school records.

Field- Mount Union junior Aubrey Loy (North Canton/Massillon Jackson) placed first in the long jump at the Marietta Open with a season-best and NCAA provisional mark of 5.61m. Loy also placed first in the triple jump (10.68m).
