Men's Swimming:  Swimmers-of-the-Week

Monday January 28, 2008

November 5

Men- Baldwin-Wallace sophomore Vince Colwell (Parma/Normandy) led the Yellow Jackets past Oberlin with a first place finish in the 100 backstroke (51.76), the 200 medley relay (1:43.11) and the 200 free relay (1:48.33) last week. Colwell also led the team past Wilmington with a first place finish in the 50 free (23.10), the 100 backstroke (58.58) and the 200 medley relay (142.96).

November 12

Men- Baldwin-Wallace freshman Todd Richert (North Royalton) led the Yellow Jackets with first place finishes in the one-meter voluntary dive (157.60 points) and the one-meter optional dive (276.85) last week.

November 19

Men-Wilmington sophomore Kenny Holter (Cincinnati/LaSalle) led the Quakers against Wittenberg last week with a first place finish in the 400 free (4:50.18), the 200 freestyle relay (1:51.28) and placed second in the 800 freestyle (10:14.99)

 

 

 

 

 

 

Mount Union sophomore Mike Kuzma (Severna Park, MD/Floyd Keller) led the Raiders against St. Vincent last week with a first place finish in the 1,000 free (10:38. 68), the 500 free (5:09.73) and the 200 IM (2:08.54)

December 3

Baldwin-Wallace freshman Todd Richert (North Royalton) set a school-record in both the one and three-meter championship events (11 dives each) at the Fredonia Invitational last week. He won the one-meter event with a school record and NCAA Division III National Championship Meet "A" cut score of 458.40 points. In the three-meter event, Todd placed third and set the B-W school record with 422.75 points.

December 10

Baldwin-Wallace junior Sean Sonnenberg (Napoleon) helped to lead the Yellow Jackets past Fredonia State last week with a first place finish in the 1000 freestyle (10:24.79) and the 500 freestyle (4:59.90).

January 14

Ohio Northern freshman Michael Schultz (New Berlin, WI./Martin Luther)  led the Polar Bears past Oberlin and Mount Union last week with a total of six first place finishes. Against Oberlin, Schultz placed first in the 1000 freestyle (10:54.92), the 200 butterfly (1:59.52) and set a new school record in the 200 backstroke (2:00.41).  Versus Mount Union, he finished first in the 1000 freestyle (10:13.07), the 500 freestyle (5:02.43) and the 200 freestyle relay (1:33.69).

January 21

Men-Baldwin-Wallace freshman Todd Richert (North Royalton) broke the school record with 194.48 points in the one-meter voluntary dive and placed first. He also reset his own record with 311.03 points in the one-meter optional dive and place first to help lead the Yellow Jackets past Ohio Northern last week.

January 28

Men-Baldwin-Wallace freshman Todd Richert (North Royalton) set a school record and placed first in the one-meter dive (479.40) and the three-meter dive (527.47) versus John Carroll last week. Richert also placed first in the one-meter dive (284.95) at Hiram.
