Track- Ohio Northern sophomore Dan Smith (Avon) placed first in the mile run (4:22.53) and was a member of the third place 4x400 relay team (3:29.46) at the ONU Friday Night series. The team placed second out of six teams.

Field- Heidelberg freshman Josh Lynch (Dayton/Meadowdale) helped the Berg to a third place finish out of nine teams at the Rev. Mike Hout Invitational hosted by Capital with a first place finish in the high jump (6’3.5) and a fifth place finish in the triple jump (42’8.75).

Track-Mount Union junior Scott Thomas (Salem/West Branch) won the 100-meter dash (10.97) and the 200-meter dash (22.60) to lead the Purple Raiders to a second place finish at the Westminster Invitational. |

Field- Heidelberg freshman Joe Yoder (West Liberty/Salem) provisionally qualified for the NCAA Division III Championships in the decathlon with 6,229 points and eight first place finishes. Yoder won four of the six field events and won all of the track events.

Field- Muskingum sophomore Demetrius Bailey (Buffalo, NY/Olean) leaped to a record distance of 48-03.25 in the triple jump and provisionally qualified for the NCAA Division III Championships at the Kenyon Invitational. Bailey also placed third in the long jump (21-03.50).

Track-Marietta freshman Jayshon Irvin (Vero Beach, Fla./Sebastian) paced the Pioneers to a seventh place finish with two individual titles at the All-Ohio meet last week. Irvin won the 100-meter dash (10.71) and the 200-meter dash (21.96). Irvin was also a member of the second place 4x100 relay team (42.38). |

Field- Baldwin-Wallace sophomore Kevin Phipps (Reynoldsburg/ Watkins Memorial) helped to lead the Yellow Jackets to a fourth place finish at the All-Ohio meet. Phipps took first and provisionally qualified for the NCAA DIII Championships in the discus (161’5), placed second in the hammer (161’9) and placed seventh in the shot put (46’5).

Track-Ohio Northern senior Justin Linzy (Toledo/Woodward) lead the Polar Bears to the team title at the OAC Split Meet at Wilmington with a win the 200-meter dash (22.66) and a second place finish in the 100-meter dash (11.31). Linzy was also a member of the wining 4x100 relay team (42.40).

Track (men)- Ohio Northern junior Jimmy O’Brien (Pemberville/Eastwood shattered his previous ONU record and automatically qualified for the NCAA Championships with a time of 3:47.97 in the 1,500-meter run at the Sam Howell Memorial last week. O’Brien’s time was better than two seconds below the automatic standard (3:50.60) and broke his previous record by just over five seconds (3:53.06).

Field (men)- Ohio Northern senior Ryan Robertson (Pickerington/Central) provisional qualified for the NCAA Championships in the long jump. Robertson’s mark in the long jump was 22-11.75 and was good enough for third in the 40-man field of predominantly DI athletes.

Track- Ohio Northern junior Jimmy O’Brien (Pemberville/Eastwood) took first in the 800-meter run at the All-Ohio Championships with an NCAA automatic qualifying time of 1:50.87. That time was a remarkable five seconds faster than any other competitor in the field. He then ran the anchor leg of the 4x400-meter relay team that turned in a season-best time of 3:21.75 for a second place finish.

Track (men)- Ohio Northern senior Ryan Robertson (Pickerington/Central) turned in perhaps his most dominating performance of the season, winning four events at the Kenyon Invitational. Robertson won the 100-meter dash in (11.13), the 200 dash (22.35), and was a member of the winning the 4x100 relay team (42.08). He also won the long jump (22-1 ¾).

Field (men)- Baldwin-Wallace sophomore Steve Price (North Olmsted) turned in two individual titles in the long jump (22’1 ¾ ) and the Javelin (172’11”) at the Sparky Adams Invitational. Price also placed third in the triple jump (42’7). For his efforts he was named the Sparky Adams Most Valuable Performer.
