March 24

Track (men)- Ohio Northern junior Jimmy O’Brien (Pemberville/Eastwood) placed third in the 400-meter dash in the a time of 48.75 at the Rhodes Open last week.

 

 Other Nominees: Josh Mickle (MAR)…Eric Neuhart (MUSK)…Chase Schneider (OTT)…Julius Higginbotham (HEID)

Field (men)- Muskingum freshman Demetrius Bailey (Buffalo, NY/Olean) won the triple jump (12.97) and placed second in the long jump (5.93) to help lead the team to a second place finish at the Muskingum Invite last week.

Other Nominees: Jacob Fox (ONU)…Justin Floyd (MAR)…

 

March 29

Track (men)- Ohio Northern senior Ryan Robertson (Pickerington/Central) placed first in the 100-meter dash in a time of 10.90 and in the 200-meter dash with a mark of 22.21 at the OAC Split Meet hosted by Wilmington last week.  The team finished first of five teams.

 

 Other Nominees: Marty Assmann (CAP)…Jared French (OTT)…Wes Hendricks (HEID)…JD Walters (MUSK)

Field (men)- Muskingum freshman Demetrius Bailey (Buffalo, NY/Olean) won the triple jump ( 44-07.00)  and the high jump (6-02.00) at the OAC Split Meet hosted by Marietta last week. The team finished second of five teams.

April 7

Track (men)- Ohio Northern junior Jimmy O’Brien (Pemberville/Eastwood shattered his previous ONU record and automatically qualified for the NCAA Championships with a time of 3:47.97 in the 1,500-meter run at the Sam Howell Memorial last week. O’Brien’s time was better than two seconds below the automatic standard (3:50.60) and broke his previous record by just over five seconds (3:53.06).

Field (men)- Ohio Northern senior Ryan Robertson (Pickerington/Central) provisional qualified for the NCAA Championships in the long jump. Robertson’s mark in the long jump was 22-11.75 and was good enough for third in the 40-man field of predominantly DI athletes.

April 14

Track- Ohio Northern junior Jimmy O’Brien (Pemberville/Eastwood) took first in the 800-meter run at the All-Ohio Championships with an NCAA automatic qualifying time of 1:50.87. That time was a remarkable five seconds faster than any other competitor in the field. He then ran the anchor leg of the 4x400-meter relay team that turned in a season-best time of 3:21.75 for a second place finish.

Field- Ohio Northern senior Ryan Robertson (Pickerington/Central) turned in four top-five finishes including a win in the long jump with an season-best and NCAA provisional mark of 23-1.75. NCAA provisional mark

April 21

Track (men)- Ohio Northern senior Ryan Robertson (Pickerington/Central) turned in perhaps his most dominating performance of the season, winning four events at the Kenyon Invitational. Robertson won the 100-meter dash in (11.13), the 200 dash (22.35), and was a member of the winning the 4x100 relay team (42.08). He also won the long jump (22-1 ¾).

 

 Other Nominees: Marque Jones, WILM…JD Walters, MUSK…Jimmy O’Brien, ONU…Matthew Hickman, MAR.

 

Field (men)- Baldwin-Wallace sophomore Steve Price (North Olmsted) turned in two individual titles in the long jump (22’1 ¾ ) and the Javelin (172’11”) at the Sparky Adams Invitational.  Price also placed third in the triple jump (42’7).  For his efforts he was named the Sparky Adams Most Valuable Performer.
