Wilmington freshman Brandon Bruner(Cincinnati/Shroder) helped the Quakers to a first place finish among nine teams at the Wilmington Invitational with a first place finish in the 200-meter dash (22.51) and a second place finish in the 100-meter dash (11.49). Bruner was also a member of the first place 4x400 relay team (3:25.58) and the second place 4x100 relay team (43.55). |

John Carroll freshman Mike Minjock (Seven Hills/St. Ignatius) led the Blue Streaks in the field at the B-W Sparky Adams Invitational with a first place finish in the long jump. Minjock’s mark of 7.24m not only captured first place, but also earned him an NCAA provisional qualifying mark.

Track:Mount Union junior Ty Griffin(Massillon/Massillon Perry) won the 1,500-meter run with a NCAA provisionally qualifying mark of 3:53.77 at the All-Ohio Championships. Griffin also placed second in the 5,000-meter run (15:11.79). The team placed third among 19 teams. |

Field: Baldwin-Wallace junior Kevin Phipps (Pataskala/Watkins Memorial) won the hammer throw with a school-record and NCAA automatic qualifying mark of 194’10’, place second in the discus with an NCAA provisional qualifying mark of 159’3’ and place seventh in the shot put with a throw of 48’9.5’ at the All-Ohio Championships. The team placed fifth among 19 teams.

Track: Mount Union sophomore Tim Kelly (Lakewood) helped the Purple Raiders to the top spot at the OAC Gold Meet with two individual first place finishes in the 1,500-meter run (4:09.24) and the 800-meter run (2:00.22).

Field: Baldwin-Wallace senior Steve Price (North Olmsted) competed at the Liberty (Va.) University Invitational and scored a career-high 6,718 points in the 10-event decathlon to place third and posted an automatic qualifying mark for the NCAA Division III National Championship Meet.

Ohio Northern sophomore Jacob Schwab (Willard/Monroeville) tallied four top-eight performance to lead the Polar Bears at the Washington and lee /Virginia Military Carnival. Schwab earned a third-place finish in the 400-meter dash (49.70) and an eighth-place finish in the 100-meter dash (11.20). He was also a member of the winning 4x100 relay team and the second place 4x400 relay team (3:19.19).

Mount Union senior Judd Lutz (Tiffin/Columbian) Lutz won the discus and shot put at the Wheeling Jesuit Invitational. His mark of 170-3 in the discus was the second-best throw in the nation this season, along with a throw of 52-8.75 in the shot put qualified him in both events for the NCAA Division III Track and Field Championships.

Track: Ohio Northern junior Ryan Fleming (Maitland, Fla./Lyman) placed sixth in the 100-meter dash (11.11) and was a member of the fourth place 4x100 relay team (42.34) at the UNC Early Bird Invitational.

Field: Baldwin-Wallace senior Greg Patrick (Collins/Western Reserve) broke the school record and placed second in the shot put with an NCAA provisional qualifying mark of 54-10.00 at the UNC-Charlotte 49er Classic. Patrick also placed seventh in the discus (147-04) and eight in the hammer throw (156-07).

Field- Heidelberg freshman Joe Yoder (West Liberty/Salem) provisionally qualified for the NCAA Division III Championships in the decathlon with 6,229 points and eight first place finishes. Yoder won four of the six field events and won all of the track events.

Field- Muskingum sophomore Demetrius Bailey (Buffalo, NY/Olean) leaped to a record distance of 48-03.25 in the triple jump and provisionally qualified for the NCAA Division III Championships at the Kenyon Invitational. Bailey also placed third in the long jump (21-03.50).

Irvin won the 100-meter dash (10.71) and the 200-meter dash (21.96). Irvin was also a member of the second place 4x100 relay team (42.38). |

Field- Baldwin-Wallace sophomore Kevin Phipps (Reynoldsburg/ Watkins Memorial) helped to lead the Yellow Jackets to a fourth place finish at the All-Ohio meet. Phipps took first and provisionally qualified for the NCAA DIII Championships in the discus (161’5), placed second in the hammer (161’9) and placed seventh in the shot put (46’5).

Track (men)- Ohio Northern junior Jimmy O’Brien (Pemberville/Eastwood shattered his previous ONU record and automatically qualified for the NCAA Championships with a time of 3:47.97 in the 1,500-meter run at the Sam Howell Memorial last week. O’Brien’s time was better than two seconds below the automatic standard (3:50.60) and broke his previous record by just over five seconds (3:53.06).

Track- Ohio Northern junior Jimmy O’Brien (Pemberville/Eastwood) took first in the 800-meter run at the All-Ohio Championships with an NCAA automatic qualifying time of 1:50.87. That time was a remarkable five seconds faster than any other competitor in the field. He then ran the anchor leg of the 4x400-meter relay team that turned in a season-best time of 3:21.75 for a second place finish.

Track (men)- Ohio Northern senior Ryan Robertson (Pickerington/Central) turned in perhaps his most dominating performance of the season, winning four events at the Kenyon Invitational. Robertson won the 100-meter dash in (11.13), the 200 dash (22.35), and was a member of the winning the 4x100 relay team (42.08). He also won the long jump (22-1 ¾).
