February 22

Track- Capital freshman Josh Woods (Marysville) broke the school record and automatically qualified for the OAC Championships with a second place finish in the 200-meter dash (22.61) at the Rick Meindl Last Call meet host by Capital. This is Woods’ first attempt at this event in his college career.  

Field- Muskingum freshman Chase Addy (Newcomerstown) won the pole vault with a height of 14-11.0, to narrowly miss an NCAA provisional mark at the Mount Union Raider Open. 

February 15

Track- Ohio Northern senior Alan Bowsher (Bowling Green) won the 5,000-meter run at the All-Ohio Championships with a time of 15:04.07 to shatter the school record 15:10.54.

Field- Ohio Northern senior Jacob Weyruasch (Orrville) placed second and was the leading OAC finisher in the pole vault with an NCAA provisional mark of 15-3 at the All-Ohio Championships.

February 8

Mount Union freshman Charles Pratt (Canton/GlenOak) earned a second place finish in the 55-meter dash (6.58) and 200-meter dash (22.89) at the Jim Wuske Invitational host by Mount Union last week. Pratt was also a member of the 4x400-relay team (3:28.26).

Capital junior Cory Trump (Hilliard/Hilliard-Davidson) won the high jump at the Great Columbus meet with his best leap of the season at 6-06.00. Trump is currently tied for the best mark in the OAC.

February 1

Baldwin-Wallace senior Greg Patrick (Collins/Western Reserve) and junior Kevin Phipps (Reynoldsburg/Watkins Memorial) finished first and second, respectively, to win the shot put relay with a mark of 101’4.25”at the OAC Relays. Patrick threw 51’3” and Phipps 50’1.25”. Phipps also won the weight throw exhibition in 55’11.75” and Patrick was second in 52'7.50". The duo set meet relay records in both events.

Mount Union senior Scott Thomas (Salem/West Branch) was part of three first place finishes that led the Purple Raiders to a third place finish at the OAC Relays. Thomas placed second overall in the 55 meter dash with a time of 6.60. Thomas also was on the winning sprint medley relay (3:36.24) and the 4x200 meter relay team (1:32.92)

January 25

Field- Heidelberg senior Julius Higginbotham (Elyria) led the Berg in the field at the Northwest Ohio Invite hosted by Findlay, by placing first in the long jump with an NCAA provisional jump of 23’2”. Higginbotham also took second in the triple jump (42’5.50).

January 12

Track- Heidelberg junior Julius Higginbotham (Elyria) helped guide the Berg to a second place finish at the Capital Rev. Mike Hout Invite last week with a third place finish in the 60-meter dash with a provisional qualifying mark of 6.98. Higginbotham also placed second in the 200-meter dash (23.78) and was a member of the third place 4x200 relay team (1:33.94).

Field- Field (men)- Capital sophomore Cory Trump (Hilliard/Hilliard Davidson) matched the Capital school record in the high jump with a OAC ‘A’ cut and a NCAA provisional mark of 6’07.50’

January 19

Track- Ohio Northern senior Jimmy O’Brien (Pemberville/Eastwood) broke his own school record in the 1000-meter run (2:28.43) at the ONU Friday Night Series last week. O’Brien also anchored the winning 4x400 relay team with a time of 3:26.9.

Field- Field (men)- Marietta senior Brian Pallini (Medina) swept the weight throw with a school record mark of 16.01m and the won the shot put with a mark of 14.64m at the Marietta Open #1 last week.

January 26

Track- Mount Union junior Cecil Shorts (Cleveland/Collinwood) finished first and provisionally qualified for the NCAA Division III Championship in the 55-meter hurdles (7.57) at the Baldwin-Wallace Mid-January meet. Shorts also placed first and qualified for the OAC Championship in the 300-meter dash (36.30)

Track-Ohio Northern senior Thomas Adam (Cuyahoga Falls/Walsh Jesuit) helped lead the Polar Bears to the team title at the OAC Relays last week with a first place finish in the 5000-meter run with a season-best 15:10.54.

Field—Wilmington freshman Braden McMonigle (Monroe/Lemmon) helped lead the Quakers to a third place finish at the OAC Relays last week with a victory in the high jump with an NCAA provisional mark of 6-7.5.

Track-Ohio Northern senior Jimmy O’Brien (Pemberville/Eastwood) won the one-mile run (4:17.55) and the 800-meter run (1:49.70) at the All-Ohio Championships.

Field—Marietta senior Brian Pallini (Medina) broke the school record in both the weight throw and shot put at the All-Ohio Championships. Pallini won the weight throw (16.85m) and improved his NCAA provisional mark. He also placed fourth in the shot put (14.97m).

Track-Mount Union junior Scott Thomas (Salem/West Branch)  won the 300 meter-dash (35.76) and was the highest D-III finisher in the 60 meter-dash with a fifth place finish (7.0) in an event that featured mostly NCAA D-I athletes at the Kent State Tune-up.

Field—Baldwin-Wallace junior Greg Patrick (Collins, Ohio/ Western Reserve) led the Yellow Jackets to a second place finish at the Greater Cleveland  Meet by winning the shot put with a career-best throw of 50-feet and three-quarters inches and placing second in the weight throw with a toss of 49' 7.25'.

Track-Mount Union junior Scott Thomas (Salem/West Branch) won the 300-meter dash (36.32) and the 60-meter dash (6.50) to help lead the Purple Raiders to a first place finish at the Marietta Open.

Field—Muskingum sophomore Demetrius Bailey (Buffalo, NY/Olean) won the triple jump  with a school record and NCAA provisional mark of 14.29m at the Otterbein Qualifier. Bailey also placed first in the long jump (6.27m).
