2007 OAC Women’s Soccer Tournament
October 30-November 3, 2007
Austintown, Ohio- The 2007 Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) Women’s Soccer Tournament will feature the top six teams in the Conference with the quarterfinals beginning on Tuesday, October 30 and running through Saturday, November 3.
Ohio Northern claimed the number one seed and earned a bye in the quarterfinals with an undefeated 8-0-1 OAC record. The Polar Bears will host the winner of the fifth seed, Wilmington at the fourth seed, Baldwin-Wallace in the semifinals on Thursday, November 1, beginning at 2p.m..
The Polar Bears will be making their 11th overall appearance in the tournament with a 4-10 record. Leading ONU this season has sophomore forward/midfielder Angie Pisut (Huber Hts./Carroll) with 13 goals and two assists along with junior forward Erin Stapp (Willoughby/South) with seven goals and four assists.
Capital will enter the tournament at the number two seed with a 7-2 OAC record and has also earned a bye in the quarterfinals. The Crusaders will host the winner of the sixth seed, John Carroll, at the third seed, Otterbein, in the semifinals starting at 2p.m.
Capital will be making it 11th overall stop in the tournament with a 6-6-2 record. Capital has been led sophomore forwards Katie Robinson (Grove City/Bishop Ready) with nine goals and five assists and Natasha Ballard (Reynoldsburg) with six goals and five assist.
Otterbein earned the third seed with its 6-2-1 OAC record and will host John Carroll on Tuesday beginning at 2p.m. The Cardinals are making their seventh showing in the tournament with a 7-3-1 record. Senior midfielder Chanel Smith (Westerville/Dublin-Scioto) has led the Cardinals this season with seven goals and one assist, along with freshman forward Lindsey Rudibaugh (Dublin/Coffman) with six goals and four assists.
John Carroll took the number six seed with a 2-4-3 OAC record. The Blue Streaks will be making their eighth entry in the tournament with a 5-6 record. Leading the team this season has been sophomores forward Elizabeth Daigler (Chicago, IL) with seven goals and midfielder Caitlyn Walton (Fairport, NY) with five goals and four assists.
Baldwin-Wallace is making its sixth stop in the tournament as the number four seed with a 5-1-3 OAC record. The Yellow Jackets carry a 1-5-1 tournament record. Leading the team has been midfielders freshman Linsey Clapacs (Willoughby Hills/South) with eight goals and four assists, along with junior Allie Wojtkun (North Olmsted/Magnificat) with six goals and four assists.
Wilmington is making its seventh consecutive appearance in the tournament at the number five seed with a 5-3-1 OAC record. The Quakers hold a 7-3 tournament record. The Quakers have been led by sophomore defenseman Kristen Elam (Cincinnati/Northwest) with six goals and nine assists and senior midfielder Jackie Broda (Dayton/Northmont) with six goals and one assist.
