Women's Soccer: OAC Tournament2008 OAC Women’s Soccer Tournament Tournament Site-November 4-November 8- Austintown, Ohio- The 2008 Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) Women’s Soccer Tournament will feature the top six teams in the Conference with the quarterfinals beginning on Tuesday, November 4 and running through Saturday, November 8. Otterbein finished the regular season at 7-1-1(14-1-2) to claim the regular-season title for the fourth time and the #1 seed. As the #1 seed, the Cardinals earn a bye in the quarterfinals and will take on the winner of #5 John Carroll at #4 Capital on Thursday, November 6. The Cardinals are making their eight appearances in the tournament and carry a 8-4-1 tournament record. Ohio Northern has earned the #2 seed with a 7-2-0 (13-5-1) record. The Polar Bears will be making their 12th stop in the tournament with a 5-11-0 tournament record. ONU has also earned a bye in the quarterfinals and will take on the winner of #6 Baldwin-Wallace at #3 Wilmington at 2p.m. on Thursday, November 6. Wilmington finished the season with a 7-2-0 (14-5) record to enter this year’s tournament at the #3 seed. The Quakers are making their eight tournament stop with a 8-4-0 tournament record. Wilmington will host #6 Baldwin-Wallace on Tuesday, November 4 at 7p.m. Baldwin-Wallace is make its seventh tournament visit with a 1-6-1 tournament record. Capital, the 2007 OAC Tournament Champions, earned the #4 seed with a 5-4 (10-6-2) record to make its 12th overall stop in the tournament with a 8-6-2 tournament record. The Crusaders will host John Carroll, who claimed the #5 seed with a 4-3-2 (11-4-4) record. OAC students shall be admitted free of charge with valid school identification. OAC brown passes are not valid for the tournament. OVERTIME Please note that in the event of a tie at the end of regulation, there shall be (up to) two 10-minute sudden-victory overtime periods. If there is still a tie at the end of the overtimes, the score will be officially recorded as such, and we shall then employ the penalty kick tiebreaker outlined in the NCAA rules in order to determine a winner. WEATHER/DAYLIGHT OR UNFORESEEN CIRCUMSTANCES Regarding weather or daylight, once the match has started, there will be a declared winner. If the match is cancelled before the 70th minute, the higher seed automatically wins/advances. If the match goes beyond the 70th minute, whoever is ahead will win/advance (or the higher seed if it is tied).
