Women's Soccer:  Players-of-the-Week

October 31

Caitlyn Walton

John Carroll senior midfielder Caitlyn Walton (Fairport, NY) scored the game tying goal and then assisted on the game winning goal to lift JCU past Baldwin-Wallace, 2-1, in overtime.  Walton also assisted on the second goal in the Blue Streaks 3-0 win over Muskingum to clinch the #3 seed on the OAC Tournament.

Molly Gradowski

John Carroll junior goalkeeper Molly Gradowski (Bethesda, MD/Georgetown Visitation) led the Blue Streaks to a 1-0-1 record last week with a career-high 14 saves in a 0-0 tie with #8 Otterbein. Gradowski also recorded three saves in a 2-0 win over Wilmington.

Ohio Northern senior forward Angie Pisut (Huber Heights/Carroll) helped to lead the Polar Bears to a 2-0 record last week with two goals, including the game-winning goal in a 1-0 win over John Carroll. Ohio Northern is currently tied for first place in the OAC with a 5-0 record.

Otterbein sophomore forward Adrienne Novak (Bethel, PA/Bethel Park) helped to lead the Cardinals to a 2-0 record on the week with a goal in a 2-0 win over Mount Union and the game-winning goal in a 2-0 win over Heidelberg. Otterbein is also currently tied for first place in the OAC with a 5-0 record.

October 12

Wilmington senior forward Jenna Curcio (Morrow/Little Miami) tallied a total of seven points to lead the Quakers to a 2-0 record on the week. She scored a pair of goals in the Quakers’s 3-0 win over Muskingum and added a goal and an assist in a 5-0 win over Heidelberg.

Baldwin-Wallace senior defender/midfielder Stephanie Geiger (Berea) tallied six points to help lead the Yellow Jackets to 2-0 finish last week. Geiger scored one goal in a 3-0 victory over St. Vincent and two goals in a 3-2 win over Mount Union.

September 28

Otterbein junior defender Jenny Knox (Gahanna/Bishop Hartley) scored the game-winning goal in the 81st minute of a 1-0 victory over Earlham. Knox also played every minute on a defense that did not allow a goal last week. The Cardinals went 2-0 on the week.

Capital junior goalkeeper Linley Vermillion (Englewood/Northmont) faced 26 shots overall with 13 saves in the Crusaders 1-0 shutout victory over Kenyon last week.

September 14

Wilmington senior forward Alex Hesson (Monroe/Lemon-Monroe) scored a pair of goals in the Quakers’ 6-2 win over Manchester and followed that performance with her second career hat trick as they topped Rose-Hulman, 8-1. Wilmington was 2-0 on the week.

Ohio Northern senior forward Angie Pisut (Huber Heights/Carroll) led the Polar Bears to a 2-1 record last week with two goals and two assists in a 7-0 shutout over Defiance and then added a goal in a 4-1 victory over Kalamazoo. On the week, Pisut scored three goals on 15 shots and dished out two assists.
