Men's Soccer:  Players-of-the-Week

Monday October 29, 2007

September 4-Baldwin-Wallace senior midfielder Brian Sugerman (Akron/Richfield Revere) led the Yellow Jackets to a 2-0 record last week. Sugerman tallied two goals and one assists in a 4-1 win over St. Vincent and one goal in a 4-2 win over Penn State Behrend.

Heath September 10-Muskingum freshman forward Heath Zealer (Circleville/Teays Valley) led the Muskies to a 3-0 record last week. Zealer tallied seven points with three goals and one assist.

September 17-Ohio Northern sophomore forward Dan Otanicar (Wadsworth) added two goals and one assists in the Polar Bears 4-1 win over Defiance last Tuesday.  Otanicar also added two more assists at OAC-MIAA Shootout, including an assist on the game winning goal  against Hope to win the title.

September 24-Capital midfielder Josh Thompson (Gahanna/Lincoln) scored two goals in just over four minutes to help lead the Crusaders past Defiance 8-0 and extend it winning streak to 14 games. The Crusaders finished the week 1-0-1.

Buhrman Wins Player of the Week Honor

October 1-Heidelberg freshman forward Cory Buhrman (Brunswick) scored the game winning goal in the Bergs’ 1-0 win over Defiance and assisted on the game winning goal in their 1-0 win over Muskingum to open Conference play last week.

October 8-Ohio Northern junior midfielder Adam Ross (Cincinnati/Cincinnati Hills Christian Academy) scored the game-tying goal in the Polar Bears’ 2-1 overtime win against Heidelberg. Ross also added two more goals and two assists in their 7-1 win over Marietta.

October 15-Ohio Northern senior midfielder Nick Farmwald (Danville, Ky./Boyle County) scored two goals and earned two assists in the Polar Bears’ shutout victories over Otterbein and Muskingum.

October 22-Baldwin-Wallace senior midfielder Alex Restaino (Hudson) scored six points last week on two goals and two assists to lead the Yellow Jackets to a 2-0 record in OAC play. Restaino scored the game-winning goal their 2-0 victory over Otterbein.

  October 29-Capital sophomore midfielder Josh Thaboune (Bexley) assisted on the game-winning goal in the Crusaders 2-1 victory over Muskingum and added an assist in their 3-1 win over Ohio Northern to lead Capital to its first OAC title since 1989.
